Discover wild edibles during this deeply satisfying foraging event at Poole Farm, Plymouth. We will learn how to identify and forage for a wide variety of wild vegetables and herbs. This lovely educational event will include covering of medicinal usage of wild plants that can be found on our doorstep. I’ll explain to you how to make tinctures, infused oils or invigorating wild teas.

Walking at a gentle pace across the farm we will identify wildflowers that make the best herbal infusions. We’ll also explore a variety of delicious edible plants that are ancestors of our well known vegetables. We’ll be looking for delicious micro-greens that are superfoods and grow just on our doorstep.

After the workshop you will leave equipped with the knowledge and skills of how to blend wildflower teas with herbs from your garden; you’ll also know how to make a medicinal tincture and how to preserve fresh herbs.

Poole Farm is a community farm nestled at the centre of Derriford Community Park. The park comprises 147 hectares of beautiful natural space with wooded valleys, wildflower meadows and rivers. Learning and wellbeing through nature is farm’s ethos and underpins everything they do. The aim is to re-connect people with nature by exploring the woods, stomping through puddles, counting butterflies, meeting the animals, learning about bees and beaver watching. Places like Poole Farm provide new experiences, break down barriers and help make nature fun!
